Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse [SNES]

Post by Zing »

It's been a while since I have played a game that is so difficult, yet so short. I have never played the game until today, but I have owned it for a while. I popped it in and completed it in about 3 hours including stopping an hour for lunch. That also includes a lot of deaths.

I suppose the game wouldn't be that difficult on my second play-through. Most of my deaths were from trying new things, exploring, and figuring out how to beat the bosses. However, the platforming is very unforgiving.

I was strongly reminded of the Little Nemo NES game. The changing of outfits. The sharp difficulty. The very short game length.

Anyone else play this game recently? I'll probably give it another try, maybe on hard difficulty.

I do wonder the purpose of the shop in the first level. I went in and nothing was for sale.

Watched a video. I remember this game as a kid. I don't remember it being terribly difficult, but that was a long time ago since I last played. Looks like fun, but unforgiving platforming can be annoying nowadays.

I guess I am just used to Capcom's NES Disney games like Chip n Dale which were easy to the point of embarrassment.

I played Castle of Illusion the other day and found it to be more difficult then I remember. Love Chip n Dale.

Not difficult if you know what you're doing.

Difficult on harder modes, yes.

But another classic Disney/Capcom game by far. Had a lot of fun with this one.

I never played the first, but Disney's Magical Quest 2 Starring Mickey and Minnie was my jam back in the 90's. Since I didn't have an SNES, I would always go to my cousins' house and throw a fit until they'd play it with me. We must have beat it over two dozen times at least, and since it couldn't save we had to speed run it. Probably spent well over 50 hours total playing it because I would die every 15 seconds. Totally my "nostalgia" game.

I might eventually get DMQ 1 & 2 for the GBA but the lack of multiplayer just kills me.

I use to play this game a lot in my cousin's house. Great game? YES. Dificult? Not so much, a lot of your deaths will be looking for more hearts but that's it. I beat this game in like 45 or 60 minutes, i lost the counts of how many times i beat this game yet i think i haven't find all the hearts... it's time to play!
