SEGA Multimega (CDX) power supply

Post by IvoSlash »

Hi all!
Today I got my PAL Multimega (Known as CDX) but it came with the incorrect power supply.
The power supply provided is a Genesis model 2 adapter, wich works, but has a little less voltage and amperage.
In this thread I am seeking help finding a proper power supply (a compatible one, does anyone know a compatible power supply, like a universal one?) or I can use my Genesis model 2 adapter without breaking the console.
Can anyone help me? Thanks

I just got a CDX this week and I'm about the start the hunt for a power adapter as well. As far as I can tell the Model 2 power brick has the right connector but too much voltage and the model 1 brick has the right voltage but the wrong connection.

Being that yours is PAL and you say the model 2 brick has less voltage I wonder if the power requirements were changed for your market as our situation is switched. If your model 2 brick is under the recommended voltage for the system, I don't imagine you'll be doing much damage. it is usually when you push too much voltage you start to have issues. (hope some one else with a bit more electrical experience can verify this)

At the moment I'm using a multi-voltage adapter I got at a local thrift shop with the proper connector from a Radio Shack.
