Monitor is going out of focus. Helllp meeee
So, I'm having some issues with my crt.
The image is going in and out of focus repeatedly. This just started randomly, and does this even with nothing going through it input-wise.
Anyone know what is causing this?

HIGH VOLTAGE BE CAREFUL
Pop the back cover off and adjust the focus potentiometer.

Is this something that could suddenly go wrong? Do I actually have to open my monitor up?
Its a pretty dang big monitor, a 37" NEC Multi-sync xp-37 plus. Not sure if I can remove the back panel without taking it off the stand, and it weighs about 200lbs

If it is going out of focus, unless the adjustment knobs stick out the back or it is done through a menu, it will require internal tinkering to diagnose or fix. As CRT says, there are dangerous voltages inside CRTs but there are often plastic knobs with screen adjustments. Perhaps the one for focus has gotten a spot of corrosion and isn't making good contact, so it is flickering a bit and so going in and out. Might be able to tweak it back and forth to clear the spot, then set focused again. But again, dangerous to randomly poke in a CRT.

Yikes. From the look of it, I don't think I could get the monitor into a position where I could remove the back panel, I can't even move the thing by myself.
I can access the menu, and there are a lot of options, but I don't see anything about a focus potentiometer. Might this go by something else in the menu? The blurring in and out is constant, every half a second or so, and makes the image unbearable to look at, but I could always make a video further showing what is happening, and what options I have in my menu.
I am willing to open it up, but only once I know that that is the only way. I really love this monitor, its my only RGB CRT, and I've had it only about a month, so I'm hoping to save it.
Thanks for the helpful responses so far, its greatly appreciated!

So the display gets blurry from a clear image or does it stay our of focus all the time? Is the focus off all over the screen, or just the edges? Any clicking noises?
I've got a 21" Dell CRT that goes in and out of focus but it works itself out with a power cycle. I didn't pay anything for it, so I can't expect much.
