I played this game so many times as a child. I don't know how many times I beat it but I never got sick of it. Great review.

Nice review.
I played the hell out of this game as a kid. Local pizza parlor had the arcade and I eventually piked up the NES version. Could never get far in it though. I always found the controls to be awkward (A for shield and up for jump, as I recall).

Learning where the powerups are is a great help so you can do double and then triple damage. Keeping those means beating it on 1 man though.
