So, I missed out on the Nintendo DS. I had the original Game Boy and the Game Boy Advance, but for one reason or another just didn't take the next step.
Well, that has all changed now, as I bought myself a Nintendo 3DS. I'm loving it so far, but the only DS game I have is Retro Game Challenge (which is really good!). I'd love to hear some suggestions for games I missed all these years.

Get Monster Tale. I'm planning on writing a review on it eventually, but for now just get it.

Re: Nintendo DS Suggestions
For first-party stuff, I'd suggest-
New Super Mario Bros
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story (I liked Bowser's more than PiT though the series is as a whole pretty amazing)
Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (Phantom Hourglass is pretty forgettable IMO)
Kirby: Mass Attack and Canvas Curse (Squeak Squad is the closest to a "traditional" Kirby game on the DS, but also the weakest. Super Star Ultra is also worth looking at if you haven't played the SNES version)
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver as well as Platinum and Black/White (Diamond/Pearl are by far the worst in the series IMO, but Platinum makes several fixes.)
Wario Ware: Touched
Mario Kart DS
Others I'd suggest:
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, Order of Ecclesia
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Okamiden
The World Ends With You
Dragon Quest IV-VI, IX
Final Fantasy: Four Heroes of Light
Phoenix Wright series
Professor Layton Series
Etrian Odyssey 3
Avalon Code
Super Scribblenauts
Infinite Space
Phantasy Star 0
Tales of Innocence (This one never came stateside but a translation patch was made.)
Lost Magic
tl;dr the Nintendo DS is an amazing system with a huge and varied library. Look hard enough and you'll find something you didn't know existed.

The World Ends With You is my favorite DS game thus far. Do yourself a favor and play it with a decent pair of headphones. The music is phenomenal and the DS speakers do not do it justice.
Lately I have been enjoying Radiant Historia but it is crazy expensive right now. Might want to hold out and see if they do a reprint.

Seconded. I really enjoyed this game as well as Spirit Tracks. There are people who can't stand the spirit tower and having to do it over and over again. That's not the case, because you have the ability to do short-cuts once you get new items that will make it easier to go through the levels.KDub wrote: Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

The music in EBA is so bad I couldn't even finish the first level.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Elite Beat Agents hasn't been mentioned yet?

Re: Nintendo DS Suggestions
Most of my favorites have already been listed by others, but nobody mentioned:
- Ghost Trick - a great game, but lacks replay value
- Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars - surprisingly good all around
