I dont want this to sound mean, and I am sure many of us (me included) dont ever play some of the games we get, but to have these games sealed away like that for eternity, never to be played is kind of sad. I once got my hands on a very good condition factory sealed perfect dark, and I felt bad keeping it, I promptly traded it away before I tore it open to give it some love.

What's wrong with buying sealed games for collection purposes and to display and buying used games to play. It's just something i like to do :)

That you should. You don't see me bashing what you like/love to play or collect.

The prevailing attitude around here, at least from people that have spoken up in the past, is that games are meant to be played, not sealed in coffins. Nintendo Age is full of people that collect sealed games and I'm sure there are a bunch of VGA collectors there too. I really only visit there for game information from time to time, so I might be misjudging that a bit. Just be prepared as I'm sure there's going to be a bunch of negative opinions posted.

As far as collecting them for collecting and displaying purposes, I think it is a bit different for games and comics versus other things that people collect and keep sealed. With Games and comics if they're sealed up you can only look at the cover. Most of the enjoyment is locked inside. With most toys, there is a window so you can at least still appreciate it as a a sculpture of sorts. I myself have been collecting a lot of Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and the like recently. Some are older and loose and I can examine them if I wish, but I have new sealed ones too. I can at least see all but one side of them even if I don't open them. Since I'm not not rolling them across the desk making vroom noises or running them down tracks, I'm not really losing any of the enjoyment by leaving them sealed. A sealed game is just a small bit of print to look at. But that's just my opinion. :)

I just don't get it. I mean, I can understand having the boxes and displaying them but paying that much money for a sealed copy of a game that will never be put to use just doesn't make sense to me. I'm not bashing, like I said before, to each his own, but it's just not something that I would personally do.

I must admit though, the pictures you posted are pretty cool and they do look nice. It's a neat collection. I just...still don't get it. haha
