I have this weird feeling of... lostness in my gaming. (Don't even say it) I just... I have a couple of games I'm trying to get into. One, Skyrim, I was really hyped about getting, and have put like 50 hours into. I even got the special edition with the statue and the art book. But, I don't like playing it. I have this weird... thing going on. I love it, but I just don't feel right playing it. I'm having fun and not at the same time. I have a couple of other games that I've had fun with, but I just haven't really wanted or felt good playing them. (In this case, the Batman games and Super Mario Sunshine) I really want to get into Mario, but I just can't. Batman, is really fun, but I feel forced playing it. The collectables don't help. And there's others... meh.
Should I keep these games? Sell them? I'm not sure what to do?
Also, LA Noire. I'm pretty sure I'm safe selling it, but what is ya'lls opinion on this?
EDIT: Uhh, might move this into Off topic. I posted in the wrong place...

Not a viable option. I live around 15 miles away from most of my videogaming friends, and the other possibility won't currently talk to me... ahem, not important.AznKhmerBoi wrote:^ solution, dont play alone play with someone watching or just taking turns.
I really want to keep trying with Skyrim and Mario, the rest I'm just looking for opinions on.

This might be the first sign you are on your way to collecting games without playing them, or maybe you're at that age where other things take up more of your time or are more interesting.
If you have the cash to spare, I'd say keep the extra stuff and dump what you don't like onto someone else. You have the option of buying it/renting it later when you get the itch to go back.

I've also had a problem with games that are too open-ended. Think back to the Ultima games where they threw you into the game and you do whatever you want. The problem is finding what the designers want you to do. I haven't played Skyrim, but I have played Morrowind and that game gives me that feeling.
I don't blame you for Super Mario Sunshine. Here is my latest post from another forum after I gave this game almost a year of off and on chances to woo me:
I give up on this game once and for all.
I recently gave it yet another serious try since my daughter loves to watch me play Mario games. I am up to 40 shines and I can't force myself to go on.
The controls are borderline broken. I lost count of how many times I did backflips without trying or slightly tapped the controller only to fly off the edge. Wall jumps are broken, as you can't do them if you are actually next to the wall. The "control" while underwater is a joke.
The level design is horrid. It's like they put a bunch of interns to work making maps and slapped the results into the final game.
The blue coin collectables feel a little too much like work. I think they took too much inspiration from Banjo-Kazooie games.

I actually liked Super Mario Sunshine, but that's beside the point...
Just a thought, but you almost sound a bit depressed IMO. That being the case, I'd recommend a brief hiatus from games just to get out and change your scenery a bit.
It's good to go out and collect some real life experience points every once in a while...

I wouldn't sell the games. I always come out of that feeling eventually and then I wish I had the games.
Never really figured out a good way to get rid of that feeling though. It just fades by itself with time.

You may just be having a lull in your gaming interest right now. This is something I've experienced every so often, sometimes you simply lose interest in gaming as a hobby. At times like this I usually try to pursue other interests, after a while the excitement in playing games will return.
Re: Bwaah! I hate this feeling...
As others have said, I think you just need a break. Don't force it if you're not interested. Put down the controller and go read a book or two, or whatever your other interests might be. If you don't have any other interests, then cultivate a new one, or get that chick you like to go on a date with you.
It might take a week, it might take a month, but sooner or later you'll be feeling fine about your games again.
I'm honestly doing the same thing right now. Aside from playing a demo the other night, I haven't touched my games in nearly a month. It was building all through December as I played less and less, and I'm off games entirely right now. Its happened before, it'll happen again.
In the meantime, I'm catching up on my reading.

You seem to force yourself into gaming, so learn to lessen it and play only when you really feel like it. Game like Skyrim is not very approachable and you have to immerse yourself into it to an extent, so I would recommend to look into different genres, something more pick-up-and-play style. I think you may have caught into the hype, when it really isn't your type of game. Everybody raves about Skyrim, at least did couple weeks ago, and it kind of made me feel like I have to play it, when in reality I have no interested in it and I still have Morrowind to finish.
I'm going through that phase now, I can't play deep or story driven PC (and this gen console games) much anymore. Strategy or management game here and there, but they are also kind pick-up-and-play as you don't follow story or campaign, at least I don't. I play mainly with GBA, DS, NGPC and play SSX and stuff like that on console. Advance Wars series are by far my most played games is recent months, you can get right into action and can't drop it until you've finished the stage. So learn to evolve your gaming taste, same things might not appeal you anymore. Perhaps not same things works for you as for me, but find your own thing.
