Does this list remind you of anyone you know?
http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-5-stupi ... g-up-poor/
Some of these things I and my family do, and some I see my neighbors do. I'm quite guilty of #5 myself. People think it's funny or strange how much I like $1 frozen dinners, canned soup, and ramen noodles. At the same time, I have absolutely no love for fresh vegetables.

Suddenly having money is a very weird thing, and you do feel guilty when you spend even though it's doing no harm.
Also I still only own three pairs of pants

95% of my clothes came from either Salvation Army or Goodwill, and I only have 2 pairs of shoes, neither of which cost more than $25 at Walmart.BRIK wrote:Suddenly having money is a very weird thing, and you do feel guilty when you spend even though it's doing no harm.

Yeah, totally me. Especially the parts about gaining a taste for cheap food and blowing income tax return money, lol.

#4 and #1 seem like crap if you ask me. Its there to an extent for some, but I, growing up poor, never did those. So much bullshit...

Unfortunately yes, I like cheap food, spend money like there's no time to waste, and keep up with exactly how much money I have at all times.
I never got an allowance as a kid, if I did it was $5 a week when everyone else was getting $20. I used to skip eating lunch at school to save my lunch money for stuff I wanted. I've lived with just my mom forever, and it's not that she was ever not doing well financially, but I guess she knew better than to give money to kids? haha
But yeah, my girlfriend was one of those kids who would get like $100 a week or some bullshit like that so she really has no sense of worth when it comes to money. I don't know how many times she's been like "Hey, I found 40 dollars!" When putting on a pair of pants or going through and cleaning out her car. I just can't even fathom not keeping up with my money. haha

100 bucks a week? O.o
I never got money when I was a kid from my parents unless I worked for it. Good life lesson really.
