I have a slim PS2 with Swap Magic 3.6 (CD and DVD).
I'm trying to play an UK import that's a CD (not a DVD).
My Swap Magic disc (CD) freezes on my slim for some reason, so I can't use it.
It's a weirdo Datel disc, which I cannot seem to rip or copy so patching to DVD/ESR won't work.
Is there another method to boot this disc?
I know there's a FMB ELF file that will boot import DVD's, but can't fine one for CD.
Any ideas?
Help playing PS2 import CD?

Re: Help playing PS2 import CD?
I don't think that all PAL discs work with an NTSC console - they need to be programmed to allow for 50hz or 60hz, and not all are.noiseredux wrote:I have a slim PS2 with Swap Magic 3.6 (CD and DVD).

I haven't even tried booting it because the Swap Magic CD disc isn't working (which is made to read on an NTSC console).dsheinem wrote: I don't think that all PAL discs work with an NTSC console - they need to be programmed to allow for 50hz or 60hz, and not all are.

Re: Help playing PS2 import CD?
nope. my DMS4 can force PAL games to run NTSC/60hz (can also force NTSC games into PAL/50hz too) swapmagic just boots the games, it doesnt patch the video mode, you need to patch the game into NTSC, use some sort of .ELF app to set the video mode (cant remember the name of it) or use a chip that can force video modes. you can also convert the cd image to a DVD one so it works with ESR, that won't fix the video mode issue though, there are almost no american TVs that support PAL.dsheinem wrote:I don't think that all PAL discs work with an NTSC console - they need to be programmed to allow for 50hz or 60hz, and not all are.noiseredux wrote:I have a slim PS2 with Swap Magic 3.6 (CD and DVD).

But Swap Magic asks you to choose if you want to boot to PAL or NTSC.SnowKitty wrote: swapmagic just boots the games, it doesnt patch the video mode,
at any rate:you can also convert the cd image to a DVD one so it works with ESR, that won't fix the video mode issue though, there are almost no american TVs that support PAL.
