GameBoy collection: Keep or Kill?

Post by The Nihilist »

I found my GBC in the garage recently. I'm trying to research must have/rare titles for GB/GBC as I want to reconstruct a mini collection of fun/rare gems.
I haven't have a lot of time to play them recently (twins, 14 hour work days. Y'know, the daily doldrums) so this is where you come in:

Which games are worth keeping? Which ones are worth giving another go? Which are worth letting go? And what games are worth pursuing?

Pokemon Silver
Pokemon Blue
Pokemon Pinball
Pokemon Card Game
Pokemon Card Game 2
Killer Instinct
Klustar
Super Mario Land 2 6 Golden Coins
Oddworld Adventures 2

I'm not a big Poke-fan myself, so that's yr decision on Blue & Silver.
Poke Pinball is really fun.
The card games are not my thing.
Killer Instint is pretty meh on GB.
Super Mario Land 2 is very good. Keep that for sure.
never played Klustar or Oddworld 2.

The Game Boy Oddworld titles are very hard ports. You're better off playing the Oddworld games on PC or PS1 because they feature better graphics and vastly superior controls.

Why not just give each game a test run and decide for yourself?

Pokemon card game 2 never came stateside I think. May be worth keeping.

Also, your silver version may need a new save battery (Gold/Silver/Crystal's batteries all burnt out quickly, since they were keeping track of time and holding the save. Also, depending on how long it has been since you've touched Pokemon Pinball, check the rumble battery. It may have corroded from age.

The short of it is I don't have a lot of free time, much less to take each game and give it a thorough evaluation. The idea is to bolster up a collection for when things start to settle down

Keep Mario Land 2 and the pokemon games for quality. The Oddworld game might be worth something, cause of brand name and the fact that it might be rare, so either keep and wait for the price to rise or sell it.

And that other game I don't even know what it is.

If none of the others, at least keep Super Mario Land 2. It's one of the best 2D Mario games.
