turtLe's Nerdyness

Post by turtle »

I always enjoy looking at other peoples space, you always get great ideas for your own. I figured it's time to contribute, been wanting to display my room/collection for a while now. I still live at home, however my girlfriend and I bought a new place. We move into it this Saturday! Before I start to pack and mess everything up I decided to take photo's of my Bedroom/Gameroom/Office/Nerd Cave. I am very proud of my collection I have mainly Gen 6 and 7 (current generation), However my SNES and n64 collection is quite decent.

Hope you enjoy - I plan on uploading the pictures of our new condo after everything is set up maybe set this thread up as a before and after.

Two old Viewsonic 19" monitors and my new-ish 27" Samsung set up as a eyefinity display (I use displayfusion on them for the taskbar/hotkeys on each) and a Logitech G15 Gen 1 Keyboard. Inside the Antec 1200 case is a ASUS P6X58D Premium mobo, Intel i7 930 LGA1366, 6gb triple channel DDR3 memory and Radeon 5870 and stacks of HDD's to hold HD Movies/TV Shows to stream to the PS3.

Sharp 50" 3DTV

My assortment on consoles, mind the dust and the rickety home made shelves holding the retro stuff. Old phat 60gb ps3 and Xbox 360 elite hiding to the left.

Image
I have a 750+ DVD Spinner to hold Blurays and...

Image
Image
PS3 and PS2 games and...

Image
Wii, GC, x360, PSP games.

Image
Image
DS, GBA, GBC, PS1 and Bluray TV Shows and Box Sets.

SNES, n64 and a few Genesis games. After printing case labels for about 2/3 of the games and killing a several colour toner cartridges (EXPENSIVE!!) I was then informed by my girlfriend who works at staples that she can get them printed there cheaper then the toner and she gets a discount to boot... YAY

3DS and Phillips iPhone speaker dock. Bad dudes above the turtle crossing and the 1970's rocker/gaming chair (not pictured) below.

Megaman 2 bosses and 3D glasses hung behind the TV

FIGURES!

There doesn't have to be hate!

Image
Nerdroom complete with art and figures. Mind the somewhat made bed.

Image
And yes I love Spider-man... and the baddies! The Carnage statue I fell in love with when I saw it at a local collectables shop, it's about 18-19" tall! :D

Image
Board games, Strategy Guides, my Tourny Edition Madcatz SF4 PS3 fight stick, random books and graphic novels!

Image
More books and Graphic novels (told ya I love Spider-man)

LAST UPDATE!!!!!
Image
Finally here is a shot of the full meal deal, fries with that and they've been supersized. I know wires are scary but my desk is an old door with 4 Toyota Tacoma tail pipes sized up and bolted on  We'll end up getting new desks at the new place. Girlfriend enjoying a gaming session in above mentioned 70's rocker.

Thanks for checking out my space, I hope to get new pictures of the new condo up a few weeks or so after we are settled in.

The Dreamcast/SNES setup does not look safe. Carnage is pretty awesome, tho! Spiderman, Venom, and Carnage were my holy triad of Marvel awesomeness back in the day. That statue is legit.

Believe it or not it's not moving - it's wedged in there so well I am going to have issues getting it out.

I really dont like all the consoles all crammed into the current cabinet, makeshift storage is so... makeshift so we bought one of these for the new place to house all the hardware and a fancy wall mount for the TV.

Saturday I move, I am excite!

Those framed Mega Man 2 bosses are slick

I don't really care for how everything is just kinda crammed tightly wherever you can seem to put it, but I can understand having space concerns.

Nice on the UGCs. I've got them too, I love it. I use the vertical custom covers though.

That joke aside, those UGC's look awesome when they're displayed. Much better than loose carts. Kudos. :)
What a maneuver!

I love the main room of your new house. Spiral staircases are just slick, so is the pass through above the sink in the kitchen. Are you going to have a game room and a den or just one and the same?
