Get the Gamecube version
I have both, the graphics look and music sound similar. The Gamecube version is reputed to have less random battles, but you still get quite a few. The Dreamcast Random Battles is really frustrating at times. Finish a battle, walk three steps, disc drive makes noise and yet another battle!

The Gamecube is a great console, so many remakes are exclusive ported to it.

Ive never played it but i had read many a times that the music in the DC version is best. Sega downsampled the music on the GC version, so it can fit on one disc. The reason its pricey not many copies where sold in both incarnations.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast

Wikipedia is your friend.

The GameCube version's price likely has to do with it being one of relatively few RPGs on that console.

Dreamcast supports VGA (yes I'm a broken record). That automatically makes it the best version!

Didn't know about the downsampled sound.

Come on now, it isn't that bad. You can walk at least 5 steps before another battle.

Oh, and another vote for Dreamcast seeing as you already own it. Why spend more money on a somewhat inferior port?

Only the NTSC version is VGA compatible, not the PAL one...

This is what Wikipedia has to say about it:
On December 26, 2002, an enhanced port, Skies of Arcadia Legends was released in Japan for the GameCube. It was subsequently released in North America on January 27, 2003, and in Europe on May 23, 2003. Legends features slightly enhanced graphics, shorter loading times and some additional content. The game also includes the Dreamcast's downloadable add-ons, and some new scenes, some of which tell stories of events that happened prior to the game.
By the way, you can still download the extra content with your Dreamcast too.

You can find it here...

Wrong, since the GC version does not have 480p support...

List of Nintendo GameCube games with 480p and 16:9 support
