As you may or may not know, there is a new law that gives the military the power to indefinitely hold American citizens inside the USA, without a trial. They only need to be accused of being a terrorist. Needless to say, this is some major fucking bullshit and completely destroys our constitutional rights.

For sake of fairness, do you have a link for those of us who would like to support the new law?

Lets re-educated or rid TSA before we move on to this one. Seriously some lady had to give up her cookies that she got from her students because the icing is deemed dangerous. WTF

I find it morbidly hilarious that the Democrats, who boo-hooed about the Patriot Act, went and passed this crap without a peep.

That's why I stay independent. Neither party is right for me.BoringSupreez wrote:I find it morbidly hilarious that the Democrats, who boo-hooed about the Patriot Act, went and passed this crap without a peep.

My understanding is that the TSA is optional. Airports are able to select the security firm of their choice. It just happens that they all choose the government supplied agency, probably due to relatively low cost and liability ("blame the government").AznKhmerBoi wrote:Lets re-educated or rid TSA before we move on to this one. I know that I personally am flying significantly less due to TSA's disruptive security theatre, so it surprises me that airports are not considering other agencies to help boost faltering ticket sales.

I wouldn't say "without a peep", there was definitely opposition within the party. Not as much as there should have been though, for sure.BoringSupreez wrote:I find it morbidly hilarious that the Democrats, who boo-hooed about the Patriot Act, went and passed this crap without a peep.
It's worth mentioning that the Democrats overwhelmingly helped pass the Patriot Act too, and many Republicans also spoke out against it afterward.

I don't remember very many Republicans being against it, but I do remember one in particular, Arlen Spector, but then he became a Democrat later.AppleQueso wrote:I wouldn't say "without a peep", there was definitely opposition within the party.
