What games were on the DC magazine demo discs?

Post by GameMasterGuy »

I can find various ones on eBay, but only one says what's on the disc. I was hoping I could make a small list for myself noting what demos each disc contained before buying one, unless such a list already exists. Can anyone with at least one disc contribute? Thank you!

The one to get is disc 10, it has an exclusive Toy Commander level.

Sega Dreamcast Magazine in the January 2001 Volume 10 issue. A single complete level with a Christmas theme. You drive a jeep, fly a plane and control a toy Santa wearing a jet-pack. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Thank you for the info! This'll help fill out most of the list. All I need now is 0 (if it exists), 1, 4, and 12. I think I remember reading somewhere that Racketboy himself owned a copy of #12, at the very least.

^ There is no demo disc for issue 0 (issue 0 was never for sale to the public). Demo Disc for Issue 12!? There was never a Demo Disc Packed with issue 12!

Disc 2: Mars Matrix (nearly unreadable, may be something else)

Concur, Issue 0 and 12 do not have discs. However these two issues are the best. Issue 0 has a great intro with specs and pics of the Dreamcast console. Issue 12 shines with a list of all the official U.S. original released games with mini reviews.

Ooooh Crap! I am missing Sega magazine discs One and Two! Mine say Generator Disc 1 and 2 instead of Official Dreamcast Magazine versions. All this time I thought I had them, I think the Generator discs were packins with the console. Ah well, the important disc is #10 with the exclusive Toy Commander Holiday level.

Looking in magazine issue 2 it is not Mars Matrix but NFL 2K. I also pulled Disc One list is from the magazine, Disc Four from the disc jacket. :D

Were these packins with a new Dreamcast console?

Yup! Got Disc 1 with my system purchase (and got HOTD2, SBF, and Power Stone) as a result, and I got Disc 2 as a bonus from an Ebay seller for getting Air Force Delta which turned out to be a shitty formal rental copy that was scratched up more than a losing lottery ticket. The demo disc worked fine  From Demo Disc 2 I purchased Tomb Raider, DOA 2 and MDK2. Looking for a decent deal on Fur Fighters.

Thanks guys! This should be very helpful... I wonder if Racketboy would be willing to make a guide out of this info, so that nobody would have to re-discover it? How would I go about submitting this to him? Just PM him?
