There are very few albums, games, movies, etc. that I get super excited/hyped/fanboyish about before their release anymore, but Tolkien-related stuff is a life long passion and will always be an exception. I've been watching the extended editions of the LOTR trilogy on Blu the past few weeks, so this is VERY welcome.

I am curious how Jackson will handle pacing/shooting/writing a script with a main character that everyone already knows will make it back home. The Hobbit itself was not written as a prequel, obviously, and something is missing when you already know so much about the significance and eventual outcome of the events unfolding...
