Guilty (gaming) pleasures
Guilty (gaming) pleasures
It seems to me, every time I mention Odin Sphere, there is always one or two people lurking in the background waiting to hurl derision upon it. Whatever. I still love the game. I _think_ its the first game I've mentioned which has elicited such revulsion from my fellow Racketfolk. I thought it would be either:
a) fun
b) traumatizing
for other people to post the game they hold dear, which others loathe.
So, name a game you love, which most everyone (on this site, at least) hates. There is no need to justify your love, nor is there a need to spit on another's. Just name a game which, for whatever reason, you really enjoy but no one else seems to. Rant, if you must: say the world is on crack, and you, alone are enlightened. We'll stone you to death with N64 carts.

Nobody seems to like Super Baseball 2020 for Neo-Geo/SNES/Genesis. I bought it for my Genesis way back in the day and loved it.
I think there are others, but I can't think of any right now....

I thought we had a guilty pleasures thread already. Or maybe I am just thinking of the "you love it, but everyone else hates it" thread.
Popcap Games. I love them, while most gamers hate them. People always joke that they were made for soccer moms who are just now experiencing PC technology. I like the casual stuff now and then. Bejeweled is honestly the first puzzle game I've legitimately enjoyed since Tetris on NES.

Rhapsody for the PS1: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhapsody:_ ... _Adventure
I own it. I paid full price for it. I played it all the way through. It's not one of my favorite games, no, but if any of my friends or family caught me playing it I'd be sure to get weird looks.

Ribbit King is cute. I enjoyed it. Of course, I got the PS2 version new at Gamestop for $5 which probably helped, but still. Fun in a mindless sort of way.
Popcap games. There are good ones. There are crappy ones. Make no mistake, though, that a lot of those 'casual' games will kick your ass and send you home to mommy.
Mozgus: Have you tried Tetris on the DS? It's good stuff.

I don't have a DS, and I'm still not very tempted to get one.Perseid wrote:Rhapsody for the PS1: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhapsody:_ ... _Adventure

That Rhapsody looks good, man. I never heard of it but I'd try it.
