What's your favorite non-Resident Evil/Silent Hill survival horror?
I think Haunting Ground, which is basically a Clock Tower game, would be my favorite. Parasite Eve 2 and Dino Crisis rank up there, too.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Clock Tower. And yes, Haunting Ground was originally intended to be a Clock Tower game.

I would say probably Echo Night: Beyond has been my favorite, not because its really scary (it's not nearly as nail-biting as some of what I've played), but because it presented an atmosphere to me that was both haunting and yet relaxed at the same time. I've often described it as the most mellow survival horror I've ever played, and I'll stand by this claim. It's different, but in a good way; it manages to set itself apart from the crowd in a genre typically referred to as full of "Resident Evil clones." So I praise it highly and will continue to do so.

Hm... probably Kuon. I like the Echo Night games a lot too though.
I've never dabbled with Clock Tower... is the series worth a go? What's it like?

Re: Haunting Ground and other survival horrors
it's awesome. Start with the first (US) game, simply called Clock Tower. You basically play a helpless girl trapped in a house with a serial killer known as Scissor Man. The thing is this, what makes the game so special is that you don't really find weapons and find back. You are really vulnerable. You must hide from Scissor Man. It honestly gets yr heart racing.brunoafh wrote: I've never dabbled with Clock Tower... is the series worth a go? What's it like?

Surprised to see it's a point and click game, are all of them point and click? Also I see it's never gotten an official release, and the SNES one is the only one that seems to have gotten a fan translation. So I guess I'll go with that.
