I recently purchased a pre modded Sega Nomad. The original screen was replaced with a newer lcd. Issues im having with the screen are an occasional white flickering, and a noticeable sort of static interference on the screen. It shows up as sort of a rolling diagonal lines that even show up when I hook it up to a tv using its av out.
I took it apart, replaced and resoldered the wires and made sure there was no short circuits. One thing I do notice is when I touch the copper ribbon inside that was used to protect the original screens ribbon cable, the diagonal lines disappear although the image still has some sort of electrical interference.
Im wondering what other kind of things I could try to resolve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe there's a ground that isn't hooked up and touching it makes you ground and helps? Was some shielding left out to accommodate the new screen? I don't own a Nomad and haven't poked in one, so just tossing out ideas.

i will investigate this. there are four wires soldered to the nomad motherboard. two are grounds, one is for power, and another for video. typically in the tutorials I've seen, the two grounds meet on the lcd end, but in mine all the wires plug in via a 4 pin clip on the lcd board.

so i joined the two grounds and it definitely made a difference in the static. still there, but much more subtle than before. the same static also used to show up when i plugged in into a tv, and now the image comes out real clean. thanks for the suggestion!
