Looking for recommendations on Madden, soccer, soccer manager, tennis, hockey, just about anything really. Thank you
Currently playing Tennis Masters 2003 and like it but absurd volleying diving saves over and over by the computer. Thinking of trying Virtua or Top Sping.

If you are going to get a Madden game for the PS2, Madden Special Edition 2005.
1. Three complete older Madden games
Amazing how far this series has come in graphics and feature. Started out on the Apple II. The older games still had a lot of features. Unique with the 2005 roster, not the original teams!
2. Video History of all the Madden games
There are a ton of Madden games, even shows why Madden 1996 was never released. There is an interesting early video clip showing Electronics Arts first Sports game. One on One Dr J Larry Bird game, remember smashing the backboard? The WTF moment, its there.
3. NFL Trivia Game
I am doing very poorly at this.

4. Madden Moments
Play 20 different great plays from the past 15 years of Madden all in the current PS2 game engine. Some great instant action plays.
5. Football Camp
Practice passes, runs, tackles etc. A nice way to learn all the moves of the PS2 controller.
Every time I reboot, a new live action Video clip starts the opening "Its in the Game." Worth the reboots to see these. Really, I don't care for Sports games, but this one is staying in the Hard Drive! There is so much to explore! Football on Memorial Day Weekend!

Must be a lot in this game, IGN did a SEVEN PAGE review:

^ I think he's talking about PC games CRT.
Soccer and soccer manager are not my forte, nor is PC unless we're talking 1996 titles.

Re: sports games
I've found something amazingly daft with Tennis Master Series 2003. In the exhibition play you can select the time of day. For example if you click 12:00 you avoid the "shadow" effect certain stadiums have on the tennis court. But in Series and Career modes I could find no such option and since the tournaments open in Indian Wells, 75% of the court you cannot see except for a little bit of sunlight making its way onto the court. I couldn't even see my opponent across the court and only the ball when it was in flight. I was literally guessing during may different match scenarios. It would seem there's an option to adjust the problem somewhere but I haven't found any. If permanent it is one of the biggest blunders I've ever heard of in video game making.
With Fifa and Winning Eleven there does not appear to be a clear game that stands out. (I'm talking the CD-Rom years.) The latter has all the tools to be a classic but apparently the ability to toggle and/or control your player to the ball -- well apparently the engine screws that up by having a player who isn't even near the ball now go after it or something to the effect. This is based upon Amazon reviews. I picked up Worldwide Football Manager 08 instead.
Regarding Madden's, I hear good things about 07 but noone really stand out. 04 had create-a-team but is apparently marred by the computer cheating to win. I went with 05 even though it didn't have that option.

Madden 12 is the best Madden I have performed this particular era and i am still having a blast with it.
National basketball association 2K12 is just as great, otherwise better than 2k11. Game is actually superbly refined.
Regardless of the "bugs" in NCAA Twelve, We performed that game nonstop for months. By no means performed Eleven, though, so I cannot compare this to this past year.
