I was considering buying a 480p cable CRT TV (just for Wii) after hearing so many complaints of alleged Wii visual problems on LCD HDTV, but considered against it as a waste.
Are there any tested LCD HDTV's that are cable of a great looking Wii 480P display?
Does just dialing back the sharpness cure the problems encountered in upscaling 480P?
What's the best Wii display solution?????

You need a component cable, not just any cable COMPONENT!eastside wrote:I was considering buying a 480p cable CRT TV (just for Wii) after hearing so many complaints of alleged Wii visual problems on LCD HDTV, but considered against it as a waste.

It will look great on any average plasma/lcd.

The best LCD TV to get to display a 480p signal is one that most closely matches double that res, but I don't think 960p is a broadcast standard...
Basically, get a CRT HDTV. They generally have the best color and contrast anyway, and now that HD TVs are getting more common, you should be able to get a 27" affordably.

Thanks. That is the conclusion I have come to. I am looking at the Samsung Slimfit and the Sony KVHS420, both 480p cable CRT's. It will also be best for the old consoles.marurun wrote: Basically, get a CRT HDTV.
