You know what, I think I really like the US saturn cases

Post by AppleQueso »

The fact that they're fragile and kinda difficult to replace when they break aside, I think I've really grown rather fond of those big, bulky, white striped things. They just look soooooo sexy lined up on a shelf.

Probably helps that Sega didn't change the look of them halfway through the console's life like they did with Genesis and Dreamcast (and like Sony did with ps3).

IF they're not cracked, and IF you have the space to display them -- yes. They Look great on a shelf.

I enjoy both my Sega CD and Saturn boxed collections. Aside from Genesis clamshells nothing is easier to browse from the couch to see what I want to play. I've also never broken or cracked one myself, I wonder what is wrong with people who do. ;)

I have to agree with Noise, you crazy!

I will admit that, in good condition, they do look pretty slick on the shelf.

Plus, at least the kept the same spine style. I freakin hate that some jap saturn games have black spines, most have white with a black bar at the top, and then some are all white. On top of that, some of them don't have an english side.

But, I am still biased towards the japanese cases.

The only damaged case I have is my copy of Fighter's Megamix, which was my first Saturn game anyway.

(Of course I only have 5 Us saturn games at the moment so it probably doesn't say much!)

I'm considering buying up a bunch of nice condition cheapo sports games to use as replacement cases for when I get cracked/damaged ones.

It's so very rare to find an undamaged saturn case at a fleamarket. They've come a long way from wherever they've been sittiing and by the time it gets to your hands, its cracked, broken or warped. With the case broken, the manual dissapears as well. And that makes the game fall out and scratches it.

I have very few complete cases for my saturn games and space is limited for me, so I have to put them in binders.

Even if I try to put my cases all next to each other, Its gonna look cheesy and ghetto when I place my cracked cases together.
