I found this Genesis lot on shopgoodwill and there is some kind of...thingy...included. I looked around and I couldn't find anything about it, but it looks like some sort of Genesis peripheral. Any thoughts?

I...I guess the Menacer Reciever. The square-ish thing. With the circle thing. Does this have to do with the Genesis lightgun?

Yep that black box is the receiver for the Meancer Light Gun (I happen to have 2 of those receivers but only one gun)

The gun is really impressive when you see it in action, it tracks your movement on screen similar to how the Wii works, but from the early 90's.
