Question for those who bought Dreamcast on 09/09/1999?

Post by noiseredux »

For those that bought their DC on launch-day, I'm curious what demo(s) were included in that original package? I feel like it was one of those demo discs that contained Sega Swirl, and probably an internet browser. But if anyone can confirm 100% which discs were included (pictures would be most helpful) that would be one less thing bugging me. Thanks! :D

I got mine preowned in 2000 at Gamestop for $170, and used the rest of my money to get an ounce of bud(to help with the immersion factor) and Shenmue haha. Locked myself in my room for 3 days till I beat it. God, being a teenager with a part time job had its benefits.

Wish I had gotten it on launch though. I was 16 and had no job and was still in school.

That really didn't answer you question, but its something I thought I should share.

I'm pretty sure a Web Browser v1 was included at launch. Useless fun side fact: my second Dreamcast was made August 1999.

Yes, I had one at launch and can confirm what's already been said about the demo disc and the network software.

So it was the one seen in this link for the Web Browser: http://dreamcast.ign.com/objects/490/490126.html

I seem to remember it being a sleeve, but I could be wrong about that. I'm about 90% sure that it is this: http://dreamcast.ign.com/objects/012/012979.html for the demo disc.
