Last minute help...

Post by SpaceBooger »

I know this is last minute, but I just got a great idea to better our "Chain Pull" contest's assembly tomorrow, but I need help.
Does anyone know where I could easily download clips/catchphrases from NBA Jam?
Thanks in advance.

I used to be able to download clips from youtube using the Download Helper add-on, then use the trial version of Adobe Audition to rip the audio and edit it fairly easily. Haven't done it in a couple years though.

I found that but I think it will be blocked and the sound isn't the greatest. Thanks though.

From my CRT vs LCD More Guides signature link:
Capturing YouTube Video

Image

If you're using Safari, there's an easy way to download YouTube videos. Open the page with the movie and press Command-Option-A, which shows the Activity window. If you're also loading other sites, you'll see a list of them: scroll until you find the YouTube page and click on the arrow to show details about what is being loaded.

You will certainly notice an element whose size is over 0.5MB (most of the time, over 5MB). Double-click on it (even if it is still loading), and Safari will download it. When the download is over, navigate to the file in the Finder (which will probably be called get_video) and add the extension .flv to its name. Now you can play it with VLC or with QuickTime (only if you have Perian installed).

For the PC you can use a URL downloading site.
http://keepvid.com/
http://deturl.com/

Or just add pwn to the front of the URL: "http://pwnyoutubeyoutube.com/"

Take a YouTube video, go to http://www.zamzar.com/url/, input the video, convert to mp3, wait a couple minutes, retrieve from e-mail, edit with Audacity or something similar.

That's what I'd do if I couldn't find anything else.
