What do you look for in the opposite sex?

Post by The Last Horseman »

For this question, it can be physical, mental, or both. Or you can put what you don't like. I'm helping someone in a psychology class figure out what people look for in the opposite sex, and why. Also, I find this stuff interesting.

The main thing though, is I need to know why. If you like girls with blonde hair, tell me why. You like guys with buck teeth and a Jo0hn Deere cap, let me know WHY.

I personally have a thing for girls with dark hair and light eyes, or a hair color between blonde and brunnette. I prefer these because I like the way they look, and generally these girls are out of my reach, which I find appealing. I like girls that are goofy and like to have fun, but they need to be serious too, because I have had bad situations come up from girls joking around and giving people wrong ideas, etc. I dislike girls who are snobby, because they seem to center in on the fact that I am poor and disregard me completely. (I'm not saying snobby girls are rich, but even the ones on my money level act this way.

I don't have much to say but I'll throw a few things out here I guess... lol.

Very much a dark haired fan myself, I especially like women with black hair and light skin. Not really sure why, but the two elements there mix together really well with me. I do kind of like girls with the alternative look, but nothing too extreme. Eyes I'm not sure, anything bright works for me. For blonde chicks I'd say blue goes really well with that. I prefer short and petite women as well, this is mostly because I'm just 5'7 myself and not super buff or anything like that, so I've just kind of naturally always had a thing for shorter women I guess.

I like women that are smart, confident, and interesting. I know a few girls that I tried to hook up with many years ago, but phew I just look back and am so thankful nothing ever happened with some of them specifically, because whenever I see them randomly still thesedays, or see their FB updates, it's just the most boring stuff imaginable. A good sense of humor is an absolute must as well and probably a good sense of sarcasm, just because that's who I am. Good sense of humor = just a fun time and whatnot. Although, I also know one girl that says nothing but sarcastic remarks back to back, and that gets old. Needs to be some kind of medium and balance with that I'd say.

I've never been in a super serious relationship, but I think an outgoing aggressive girl would probably suit me well. I'm more of an introverted person myself, so that kind of contrast would probably just be interesting and bring out the best of both of us... perhaps, I don't really know haha.

A lack of credit card debt is a nice place to start for me.

lol

Also, I really love when girls have their hair up. This seems kind of uncommon for a lot of guys, but yeah... I dunno, I tend to love it. Brings out the face a lot or something.

She must have low self esteem, a god-like libido, and must consider herself gifted at fellatio

(I hope this doesn't come off as condescending or boasting because when I was single I always hated the people in relationships that I perceived to be rubbing it in my face, but anyway...)

I used to spend a lot of time thinking about what I wanted in a romantic partner: I had all kinds of preconceived ideas about what kind of music she would listen to, what her life aspirations would be, how she would look, etc. I always wondered how I would know when I had found "the one."

After many years of being single, I finally found my one and I married her. I didn't know that she was the one from a checklist of qualities and attributes though. I knew it because asking the question of whether she was the one didn't make sense any more-- I just knew it in a direct experiential way. That surprised me. Trying to get to know your one before you meet them though is kind of like trying guess what bubble gum flavor will taste like before you've ever tasted bubble gum. You can approximate the idea, but it's not until you get that first taste that it suddenly becomes clear and you say "Aha! That's it!"

We've been together for over 5 years now are still ridiculously happy and in love and I'm probably really annoying to people like the old single me.

I look for confidence and professionalism. I like girls that can have fun, but, I can't stand it when their entire personality is "goofy". I'm pretty serious, and it just turns me off when I see an extremely goofy girl.

In terms of dress, nothing beats a woman in a pretty dress or skirt. As far as physical I tend to like girls with natural (not dyed) hair (makes me feel like they're more confident of their appearance), cut long and clean. I don't really have an explanation for any of this but, there you go.

Thin, passive, dark hair, and flexible. Luckily my current woman is all of this. I'm a very obstinate and hard to get along with person, so flexible and passive is an absolute must if it's going to work. I do well with women that have a good sense of humor and are very positive, because I am the exact opposite, so they balance me out well.

I'm not all that focused on how attractive their features are, honestly (other than them being a proper weight) it's all about how well I'm able to communicate and get along with them. I enjoy being with a partner that's easy to communicate with, and act as I normally would, more than anything else. Looks are good and all but finding someone that I'm able to get along with is very good for me.

(I feel like I'm writing a profile for a dating site or something... how has racketboy done this to me...)

I see a lot of where you guys are coming from. Xeogred, I like girls that can look good with their hair up. Ryan, I get being serious and not liking girls that are only goofy. And girls in a dress or skirt. OH MAN. But, it's a pretty rare thing nowadays, sadly. brunoafh, I really like how you point out girls that are passive. I have anger issues, and say things or do things I normally wouldn't. And I have to have a girl that can deal with that.

Figure wise.... pshhh, I'm pretty wide open here. I like a good hourglass (call me old fashioned), but if a girl is straight down her sides I don't mind. Tits wise, I actually don't like huge ones. No bigger than a D. I know a girl with E's, and I wouldn't complain if we did something, but those are a little bit to much for me. I also prefer more rounded ones. Free and open ones are okay, but to me they look kinda deflated and odd. Ass wise its more shape than size. Get a good shape, and I'm happy.
