I got some PSP games from gamestop recently. They came in those clear cases.
I asked the guy at gamestop on why its like that and he said that its probably refurbished from their company
The thing is that both games that I chose from that store were the same! Strange huh? Both Death Jr and Ghosts n' Goblins! They may have recieved them on the same day?
Does Gamestop do this now? Maybe the person who traded them in replaced them in the past when it cracked or broke. We probably both have the same taste!
Well then, what do you think? Do you find it acceptable to buy UMD games that aren't original? Should it be posted when one buys a game like this on-line?
Quality wise I noticed that one of these clear cased games doesnt eject right! It gets stuck in my 1000 version psp. I have to get some tweezers to make it come out. Maybe its meant for the other versions of psps with the simpler drives?
There are many sites online that often offer mulitcolored replacement cases. Would you change your game for fun, or for functionality in case your original breaks?

Re: replacement UMD cases?
Now that I think about it, I think these are defintely replacement cases from Gamestop.
I've seen a couple more here and there, just like these.
Have you guys seen any around?

Re: replacement UMD cases?
I've got maybe less than five (out of 100+) with those replacement cases. They were also acquired from Gamestop so yea they are most likely refurbished with those generic cases. It's the not end of the world for me especially since I paid next to nothing for those games and they are otherwise in very good condition and complete.

I see them all the time at gamestop. They are pretty sucky overall and if you apply to much pressure to the back of the system while it's reading the game will fail to spin up properly sometimes. Thankfully you can easily fix a stalled load by opening up the drive and closing it again to get it to spin up again. However it is quite annoying

Re: replacement UMD cases?
I have one or two games like this. No problem for me. A retro game shop close to me sells the cases themselves and I've seen them on sale online in bulk. The original OEM cases do crack easily unfortunately so when you don't have a choice but to replace it this is a viable option.
Re: replacement UMD cases?
the game store i used to work at actually sold these cases by themselves for replacement purposes.
