Best version of Crazy Taxi
Hey guys, I just picked up Crazy Taxi for the Gamecube today, and got to wondering... whats the best version of this game released?
There is a newly released XBLA version with leaderboards and HD resolution, which is a huge plus... but the music and voice work have all been cut and replaced with new shitty alternatives.
Does the gamecube version run any better than the Dremcast original? The Gamecube version has all the original tunes, but only changes the voice work.
I also hear the PSP version is nice. It has crazy taxi 1 & 2 on it!, and even adds 2 player muti-play.. the only version that has this actually, but i hear controlling it on psp will cramp your hand in no time... a serious problemo! =)
and lets just forget about the PS2 and GBA versions.
can anyone speak from experience on any of these ports?
thanks brotha's!

Dreamcast version is the superior without a doubt especially in regards to arcade to home translation. Nothing has been removed due to licensing crap, quick loading intermissions and the game one ups its 6 generation cosoles in visuals department especially when playing it in vga mode (simply beautiful). The only other version I played other than NAOMI or DC is psp version which I must say aint to bad cosidering its crazy taxi on a portable, 2 games in one package, a very cheap price port especially these days and custom soundtrack option which fills the void quite nicely to the removal of the games original licensed soundtrack.

Yeah. The DC version is probably the crowd favorite. The PS2 version wasn't bad though

As I understand it, every time Crazy Taxi has been updated, the music has been redone. The PC version has diffferent music than the Xbox version, which has different music than the 360 and PS3 versions. The GBA version obviously had to have different music, and I'm almost certain that the PSP version got a different soundtrack, too. I think the Gamecube and PS2 versions kept the original tunes, but don't quote me on that. Plus, I seem to remember some technical issues when playing the PS2 version. But, they all pale in comparison to the energy and fun of the original soundtrack. The Dreamcast is definitely the best way to play the game.

The Dreamcast and Cube versions are the only way to go.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

However, the 360 version (like all 360 games) supports your own soundtrack. You could load it with more Offspring than the original!lisalover1 wrote:As I understand it, every time Crazy Taxi has been updated, the music has been redone. The question for me is. Do you want an arcade-perfect port or would you prefer something to be changed?
Have to say, the draw distance in the original is a bit dissapointing, interfering with gameplay sometimes.
