Getting a .sav from a R4 to a real cart

Post by vlame »

Is there any possible way? I bought Chrono Trigger and want to upload my save from my flash cart (I have an R4 and Supercard Lite) to the real game. Is there a home brew app I can run from the GBA slot card in GBA mode to upload when the real ds game is in my DS?

Yeah there's at least one utility that'll do this, I have no idea if it's compatible with your cards (I have successfully used it on an M3 Real and an M3i Zero) and it won't work on a DSi, though it is a Slot-1 program.

I believe it's by Rudolph, who's one of the more prolific homebrewers, he makes some fantastic tools. A bit of googling should turn it up without much trouble. Good luck!

If you wanted to get a save file from a retail cartridge into a flashcart compatible format, then yes it does it by connecting to wifi, and either acting as an FTP server, or pushing to an FTP server on your computer.

To put a save from a flashcart onto a retail cartridge though is much simpler, you just load the program, pick the save file, it prompts you to put the retail game in, it does its magic, and voila. Very easy.

I use a program called Rein/Rain (they changed names throughout software revisions) for all my DS game save needs. You can even reformat DS cards save files (if there isn't an option in the game itself, like Shiren which is handy if someone else plays your game and messes up your Wander Log).
