I saw no mention of this on the forums, so I'll share: apparently the gang responsible for Odin Sphere are now focusing their attention on the Wii. This time, with ninjas.
I'm a fan of Odin Sphere -- some people decry its, shall we say, monotony... but, I just see it as a core gaming experience that gets progressively harder. And, of course, its more about time and resource management than having lots of kick ass battle moves. Perhaps because its wrapped up in so much RPG exposition shite, there comes the expectation that there should be someting -- I dunno -- more?
Anyway, this isn't really about Odin Sphere and why I like it. Its about a new, hopefully drop-dead gorgeous 2D game. With Ninjas.

I only wish it were for the 360 or PS3. I want to see the same lavish artwork in high definition. 480p... grrr.

I'm trying so hard to stop myself from typing up an essay about why I hated Odin Sphere. To me, it's such a "poser" of a game, not really delivering on any of the things it pretends to be. It's not a deep rpg, it's not a deep action game, it's not much of anything besided being really pretty. It's like they worked up all this great visuals, music and a love it or leave it story(depending on who you ask) and just threw in the gameplay at the last minute as an afterthough.
I'm willing to give Vanillaware another chance though, and admittedly this game looks kind of cool, but so did Odin Sphere. If they can put out a game that shows as much effort into it's gameplay as it's visuals, then I'll be sold. Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see what this thing is like when it's released.
Sorry for the negativity, I'm sure you'd much rather hear from some people who are fans of Odin Sphere and are looking forward to this. I'll shut up.

Odin Sphere is definitely a game you should try before buying. While it is an action game, it seems to be much more about planning and resource management; more often than not you'll be timing your attacks and then swiftly running away to gather more phozons and harvest the crops you've been planting. To simply sit in front of the boss, whacking and whacking,is a sure way to die.Daniel Primed wrote:Up to this point I have only heard positive stuff about htis game. So thanks for your input guys.
The game looks totally ace, I'm interested in seeing more on this title.
