I was browsing online, and I looked up Minecraft 1.8 to see if I could get any news, and I found some really good news. Jeb did a pre-release for the public, so it's a little glitchy, but it's 1.8. Here are some instructions on getting it.
1) Make sure you have Minecraft downloaded.
2)Go to http://assets.minecraft.net/1_8-pre/minecraft.jar (Direct download)
3)Go to Run, and type %appdata%
4)Go to .minecraft, then bin.
5)Back up the old minecraft.jar
6)Put the minecraft.jar you just downloaded in there, and make sure you replace it with the old one you backed up. (Don't worry about any other files in this folder)
7) Run Minecraft
If you want to run a server, replace your Minecraft_Server.exe with this .jar file:
http://assets.minecraft.net/1_8-pre/min ... server.jar
Good news for people who like Minecraft
