What's the best 80's sitcom?
Not trying to start a debate here, I'd just like to know what the best one(s) are. I've watched very little 80's television, and don't have much of an idea of what's worth watching.

Full House, Uncle Jesse was so bad ass.
I liked Growing Pains and Who's The Boss quite a bit.
Oh oh oh, Family Ties was pretty good.
No matter what anyone says, ALF was never funny.

Married With Children is comedy gold. I like Cheers, too. Roseanne was good in the beginning, but then towards the end it got overly dramatic and ridiculous. Night Court is good, too.

I've watched that one, it was pretty good. It has three of my favorite British actors in it (Fry, Laurie and Atkinson). The way each season was in a different time period, but with essentially the same characters was quite original IMO.alienjesus wrote:Blackadder.

Only Fools and Horses

Mr Bean, even though it's not a situational comedy it remains essential!

Fawlty Towers, even though it's a 70s comedy it's simply too good to pass up, imho.

That gets my vote, most of its run was in the nineties thoughBurningDoom wrote:Married With Children is comedy gold.

Cheers, hands down.
Blackadder is a solid choice, but you're talking about 19 episodes (including the Christmas Carol special, but excluding III which wasn't too great, imo) vs. 250+ for Cheers.

You're crazy, Blackadder III was probably my favourite series. Blackadder I was the weak link imo, and I still enjoy that.Golgo 14 wrote:Cheers, hands down.
