Hey guys, I know I haven't been active over here in awhile, but that's because I haven't really been doing much. I did however just complete a new mod in my basement which made use of a hole in the wall. I put an old monitor into a frame along with some speakers, keyboard, mouse and USB hub. The PC is right above it on the main floor of the house and everything is working wonderfully!
Here are a few pics and a YT video. Not complicated, but I think it was still fun and unique! Let me know what you think!
Its an interesting mix of old and new! Kinda conflicting but makes your brain imagine many things!
the old brick wall has an old timey look to it. makes the computer look out of place but not in a bad way really. Like if the computer was always there!
where do you live? and arent you worried about moisture?
oh well!
good job man!

@flojocabron- Yeah I agree, I wasn't sure how it was going to conflict with the surrounding area, but I think the brown kind of keeps things inline with the old meets newish technology. I'm not really worried about mositure because I lined the back with a thick trash bag and all the important parts of the CPU are upstairs right above it where it doesn't get nearly as humid! The monitor has been in the basement for nearly a year so it doesn't seem to be affected by the conditions.
@Bacteria - Figured you like that, though I'm affraid that the in-video/picture promotion isn't gonna make it to any large sites. Ah well.
@dsheinem - Take it for what it is. Just a fun little hack made from spare computer parts and a bit of free time. Yeah, I'll probably leave it unpainted for now, but it doesn't bother me.
@Ziggy587 - I'll admit, the kiosk idea was a big factor in the decision making.
@samsonlonghair - Thats the main idea, and like I said, the CPU that it's running off of is upstairs, which is older, but still functional. However if need be, I can plug my lap top into the connections upstairs and use a much more powerful computer if I need to! Very versital design I guess!
Thanks guys for your comments, I do like reading them!
Hey guys, check out my new website and project showcase!
Also this is where my Case Making Guide can be found!
Pretty cool. That thing is begging for an arcade control panel though. Also, I'd agree that you should stain or paint that plywood. I imagine it must come out so you can get to the PC?

Maybe some kind of grill or cover for the speakers, too. Even cloth could work well. It looks unfinished in its current state.
