This may be on the wrong board, but since it was in a dream keep in mind that this is all theoretical.
The dream went down like this; Perth (my home city) had just opened up it's first retro gaming store. Having being deprived of one, I was pretty excited about it so I went down to check it out.
Arriving there, I quickly found out that it was way more than just your average retro gaming store, selling lots of modern second-hand games in good nick as well. It also featured a gaming arcade full of cabinets and a computer LAN section. Being that the Perth retro gaming scene isn't exactly the biggest, I was surprised to find that there were heaps of people in there.
My question to you Racketeers is, would having extra sections in a retro game shop like an arcade and a LAN section make you want to go to that one over a competitor? Also do you think this would bring in the average Joe as well? Also also do you have any other ideas for extra sections?
I don't think I ever would open my own shop, but its something I've always day dreamed over. Something to think about.

Re: So I Had A Dream Last Night...
It probably depends on how well executed it was.
From a practical perspective, I know that in the U.S. it is difficult for retro (and even used modern) game stores to rent a lot of building space at rates they can afford to pay. I imagine this is similar elsewhere. Unless the LAN gaming brought in enough money to rent a much larger location that usual, it might have the unfortunate side effect of squeezing out some of the retro games that would have used the same floor space.
