Games with gigantic bosses/monsters

Post by neilencio »

I'm currently in the mood to play games that feature fights against things that are at least bigger than a house. You know what I'm talking about, the ones that kind of make your character look like a dwarf in comparison. Any recommendations? OTOH, these are the ones I have access to:

1. any game from the Devil May Cry series - although the ones on DMC 2 don't do anything for me. The monster designs were a bit boring
2. Lost Planet 2 - it has giant monsters, but I found them a bit boring as giant insects with lava body parts don't really look interesting to me (they kind of give me the impression of giant robots much more than proper huge ass biological monsters)
3. God of War - the first boss is the Hydra, ffs.
4. Legend of Zelda - OoT and Twilight Princess - the King Dodongo is one that immediately comes to mind, and Twilight P is just full of giant bosses.
5. Star Wars - Force Unleashed 2 - the Gorog.

Any other games you can recommend? I know most SHMUPs have giant monster bosses, but the tiny ships tend to minimize a lot of the giant bosses' impact.

You do know about Shadow of the Colossus, right?

There's also the Monster Hunter series.

Yeah, most games with bosses have bosses that are big. One of the biggest i'm aware of are the level end bosses in the Metal Slug series.

Most bosses and many monsters for the early FF series. The size comparison is significant.

And then when a handful of some of these potential bosses or characters join you, they magically shrink!

Gotta love it, haha.
