I'm going to New York and I want to see trains!
I like trains. And given I'm going to tour NY for a while, why not visit a railroad museum?
Unfortunatedly I'm kind of lost. I wonder if someone knows were can I go because there are several of them and I can't really differentiate the good ones from the small ones.

That means I will use that scary metro system. I have been told it's just as the movies

I would suggest contacting some railfan boards where you could find a yard to watch trains. I remember reading an article in NY Times some years ago where there's a huge yard in Pennsylvania that operates 24x7. Rail fans would stay at a hotel at the yard to watch trains operate all day long.

Oh. that would be cool but to be sincere I prefer the older stuff. Around here I'm lucky to see a handful of steam engines and I have always liked American steam locomotives.gtmtnbiker wrote:I would suggest contacting some railfan boards where you could find a yard to watch trains.

Aw, you're going just a week before I'm going to be there. Too bad you're not going a little later, you could have made it to dsheinem's meet-up on the 20th! :P
