PS3 No Video At Boot

I accidentally left my PS3 running for an hour or two while running a game, and when I came back and started to play again, the game and system crashed. I tried to restart the system, and while the green light came on and all USB and Bluetooth accessories were activated, no video or audio was coming out of the TV. I tried getting the system into recovery mode, but nothing happened on the screen. What should I do?

I know that holding the power button for like 10 seconds resets the video settings, but I have no idea if that would even help at all.

Yeah, I tried recovery mode, but there was still no AV output. By the way, I am using an HDMI cable with settings set to 1080p.

I had a situation once where my PS3 was clearly on, but my monitor (via HDMI) was just black screen too. I tried recovery and still nothing. I unplugged the MONITOR and when I plugged it back in it worked. Not sure if it's something like that? Unplug yr TV -- maybe the TV needs to reset the HDMI signal or something? (I don't really know how this shit works).

Sometimes my cable box loses the pic but still has sound when first turning on. Its hooked up to a HDMI multiple input box, a flip off then back on at the HDMI box does the trick.

This happened to me today with my XBOX 360 - had to reset all other components (TV and then receiver) before picture came back.

Try plugging in the composite cables, and see if that works. If so, then change to HDMI.
