Oblivion 5 Year edition...anyone else...dissapointed?

Post by CDink »

the way they went about th 5th Anniversary thing? I traded in my goty copy and got this one for 2 reasons. I was told it would have all dlc(I came to accept it wouldn't last month), and because of the 10 dollars off sykrim. When I found out about the bonus disc, I decided I could live with them screwing us on the dlc's.

But I cannot accept the fact that they were very vague about the $10 off Skyrim. They wouldn't respond to inquiries about whether or not the guide would actually be NEEDED for the 10. I mean, yeah I'm whining, yeah it's just 10 bucks, and yeah I'm still getting skyrim.

But I just thought it was a little dirty to have me open the package THEN find out the fine print. Such is the world though.

Also I literally screamed in anger to my coworker(I work in a game reatail store) when I saw the disgusting red blemish that is greatest hits all over it. I would have paid a full 60 just to rid that.

Actual IRL screaming over red plastic? Someone's a little high strung, I'd say.

Well I exaggerate a bit, it's not like it was in front of a crowd. I was far more mad that I felt Bethesda was just not giving the middle finger to PS3 users...again.

Hmmm - this was ordered for PS3 and is arriving soon - what do you mean about the $10 off not being $10? And about the GH packaging? And not all the DLC is included?! WTF...

This might be heading right back.

You have to buy the guide AND skyrim to get 10 dollars off...and you have to cut out their UPC codes and mail those in...I doubt seriously a lot of collectors will want to do that.

The steelcase has nothing on it. But the slip over the case and the disc itself is stained with that filth. I manage to look past it but I'm irate.

The disc is the EXACT same as the GOTY edition......vampire glitch and all apparently.

It's just basically a promo - put fresh copies of Oblivion out there to help hype Skyrim.

Honestly, I was kind of happy that it was just a re-rerelease, since I'd bought a GoTY edition not too long ago to get Shivering Isles. Understandable that it'd be in Greatest Hits guise (though odd that they'd do a steelcase + that). I dunno, to me it's a PC game, and those are inconsistent with packaging anyway.

Yeah I heard about the 5 year "anniversary edition".

Waste of time/money. Not to mention an idiotic year choice. I know it's just meant to get Bethesda some more notoriety but come on... 5 years?

Give us something to really celebrate, Bethesda. Release Morrowind and both expansions as freeware.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
