XBLA's Summer of Arcade 2011

Post by darthmunky »

Trailer

July 20th - Bastion (15$)
July 27th - From Dust (15$)
Aug 3rd - Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (15$)
Aug 10th - Fruit Ninja Kinect (10$)
Aug 17th - Toy Soldiers: Cold War (15$)

I for one am extremely disappointed with Summer of Arcade this year. There's not one game I'm interested in. When I first watched the trailer, there were a few that looked okay but when I saw more detailed previews of the games, I lost all interest. This is definitely the worst Summer of Arcade yet. IMO, if you took all the worst games from previous Summer of Arcades and put them together, it would be way better than this year's lineup.

I'm interested in just this one -- but it's coming to PC, so I have no incentive to buy it on 360. :)

Weak lineup compared to the past, but Bastion may surprise me

I'm actually interested in Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Bastion and From Dust.

Yeah, those are the ones I thought might be okay but after watching gameplay, they look like games I could live without. I certainly don't want to pay 15 bucks for them.

I tried the demo for Bastion today. I didn't even finish it. The combat was bland and the narrated voice over seems like a gimmick that got old very quickly. I'm going back to playing Outland

Is it? I thought it was going to be a 360 exclusive. I've seen quite an uproar about it on Rock, Paper, Shotgun because of it, actually.

Edit: I can't see it listed for PC anywhere :(

Are you kidding me? From Dust is AMAZING. One of the finest God games of the past 10 years. Seriously. Eric Chahi is a genius.

From Dust looks like the best of the bunch. Bastion was obnoxious, I had the same experience that Gamerforlife had.
