Hunting down a TG16 Bundle

Post by retrosportsgamer »

We haven't had a TG-16 thread in a while (I think I went back four pages or so).

What would you consider offering for these two bundles:

Bundle #1 - has the expansion so A/V output, multitap and cables. Just one game - JJ & Jeff

Games pictured in #2 - Dungeon Explorer, Alien Crush, Keith Courage, Vigilante, Sherlock Holmes (CD), and six sports games (right in my retro-wheelhouse). System needs a good cleaning.

Interested in everyone's thoughts - thanks!

Experience tells me that you can probably get TG-16 consoles with 1 controller and the cables for about $40-50 shipped if you're diligent.

I don't know how much the CD dock should go for by itself. Since it lets you upgrade from RF, it's the functional equivalent of a TurboBooster, which goes for about $50 shipped. That might be a useful way to anchor the CD dock's price, but I don't watch Turbo CD auctions that much--maybe it's worth more than a TurboBooster, perhaps less.

As for the games, the ones that collectors are most likely to care about (JJ & Jeff, Alien Crush, Dungeon Explorer) are hu-card only, so I'd value them at 50% of the price of complete copy. All are relatively cheap games and sell for about $10-15, so value each of them conservatively at about $6-7. If you're considering play value -- JJ & Jeff sucks, Alien Crush is brilliant, and Dungeon Explorer is a meh Gauntlet clone.

I think Sherlock Holmes CD should go for about $15.

As for the rest of the stuff, Keith Courage and the sports games shouldn't be worth much to other collectors. I'd guess $1 for hu-card only and maybe $5 for a CIB copy. The seller should be happy to get rid of those.
