PS3 internal PS1 memory card is full??
WTF? I'm trying to save MGS but it says I have 0 out of 120KB left... no space to save. What do I do? I thought the PS3 HDD was the memory card, so I should have like a whole lot of GB's available?

I haven't made any PS1 'memory cards' but I'm sure they're the normal size. You probably need to have it make another 'card'. Actaully, did you even have it create one?

You can create a new virtual memory card.

that sucks. I made one, but figured the one card was unlimited. I guess I can't save my progress now. I'm gonna have to exit to XMB and make a 2nd card. Fuck.

I'd assume that the PS1 games still need to have valid-sized memory cards, and they probably can only handle a certain maximum size. So you'll run out of space at some point.

Indeed, remember that even the 'mega' PS1 cards back in the day still had 'pages' that you had to switch between to save more stuff. The card couldn't just be 10 times bigger because of the way they designed the format. Instead of them hacking something to make giant virtual cards that some PS1 game might freak out and overwrite some other games saves or corrupt the whole 'card', they made them the correct size and you have to swap out the virtual cards.MrPopo wrote:I'd assume that the PS1 games still need to have valid-sized memory cards, and they probably can only handle a certain maximum size. I always thought you could make a new card while still in game on the PS3. I know it's been a while since I played a game via BC but I swear it was always there as an option while playing when you hit the PS key.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

I want to say this as well, but it's also been awhile since I've done this so who knows.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:I always thought you could make a new card while still in game on the PS3. Those huge memory cards were great. I remember I bought a 4mb one and it pretty much lasted me throughout my childhood.

you can look through your virtual cards, assign or re-assign an already created card -- but I couldn't find any way to create a new one while still within the game.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:I always thought you could make a new card while still in game on the PS3.
