SNK Classics Arcade Vol. 1 is rather disappointing

Post by JC48573 »

I've been picking up the compilations and I'm pretty unhappy with this one. I think it's mainly because almost half the game are fighters I've already played and owned. There are a "few" ones I liked, but that's out of 16 games.

I thought SNK vol 1 was pretty damn spiffy, personally. Which compilations have you found superior to it?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I like Capcom Classics Collection Vol 2 so far. Well, I got Snk Classics for free, so I don't understand why I'm still complaining.

I'm guessing you have the PS2 version?

It may not make much of a difference to you, but the Wii version has better emulation.

Myself, I was never real hot on Neo Geo games in the 90's... but I always loved Baseball Stars 2, Metal Slug and Top Hunter. So I think it's great just to have those games on a single disc. Plus, some of the other games are kinda interesting, too - like Sengoku and Magician Lord.

I like this comp alot too actually. Indeed, it could have been way better and has alot of shitty games in it, but the few that are worthwhile make it worthwhile.
Than and it can be forced to 480p on the ps2 with GSM!

I personally love SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1. The presentation in nice overall and the game selection is sooo good. It's worth it for Shock Troopers alone lol!
