Oh man. I can already feel the adiction coming back in. Is there any chance this will get a console release? Maybe similar to the GC release, so that we can get some 4p local going as well as online play?

Not yet, but I did play some Phantasy Star 0 for the DS. It was decent, much more what I was looking for than universe, but it was just lacking something.

I have high hopes for the psp games. With that and Monster Hunter, I'll be dungeon-grinding my way through to next year
