Mirror's Edge 2 Confirmed!

Post by darthmunky »

Mirror's Edge is one of the best games I've ever played and I would say it's the most underrated or least played game on the Xbox 360.

They said the sequel was canceled last year but now EA has confirmed it.

One of the best games ever? :P

Well I enjoyed it enough to keep my eye on this. But I hope this one doesn't enforce horrible combat like the first game did, especially towards the end when it just got so silly and annoying. The game was rather short too. But overall I enjoyed it and will be curious to see how this one turns out.

OH SHIT. So excited! I just hope this does not turn into another Beyond Good and Evil.

One of the best games you'd ever played? Seriously?

I mean the game wasn't bad at all and it deserved a sequel (if anything just to expand on the gameplay engine) but I wouldn't even put it anywhere near close to being THAT good.

I thought Mirror's Edge was unplayable. So I guess I don't belong here.

It had some good ideas, I'm sure even you thought so... a sequel would hopefully improve on the good aspects and eliminate the bad ones (like the esurance cutscenes and awful combat)

Yeah the combat was pure ass and completely forced later in the game, almost made me quit. And I rarely do this for games, but I'm pretty sure after the opening and first cutscene or two, I just outright skipped the rest. Damn they were baaaaaaaaad.

Did anyone play the exclusive PS3 DLC though with a bunch of floating blocks and crazy Mario-esque stuff? That's what I wanted out of the game! Never got around to playing that though.

They need to make it 3rd person, wipe the combat, and focus on skilled platforming.

That's the thing though, the game doesn't need combat, that's why it was awesome. There's even an achievement for not using a gun. The game is about escaping, not fighting. And that is why it's awesome. I guess Mirror's Edge is a game for hipsters, it's like a high budget indie game. I rented the first one and then bought it later just because it's a must have for my collection.
