Somebody just sent me an email this morning about how to play imports on a Genesis and Sega CD.
My memory tells me that a Game Genie is the best bet for cartridges and the ISO region converter is worth a try for the Sega CD.
Are these the best methods?

I've read in a few places about Game Genies allowing imports to be played on a Genesis. Seems like an easy solution

Here's the results of my Genesis research:

Sega CD up next.... with downloads for the converters since you have to really dig around Google to find a valid DL link.

converter carts for the sega/mega cd are becoming scarce it seems. i read on sega-16 (my new gaming bible for the last several months) that one of the new tototek carts is used to play roms, etc on the actual hardware (minus battery backup) and works as a region converter cart. doesn't seem worth the price if you ask me.
there's a least 2 different region converters for iso images, but as a mac user they seem complicated and not worth the trouble. i've read that some games work with one converter program and not the other (ranma 1/2 comes to mind)

Sega CD... there are a couple options.
1) some Super/Mega Key models support the Sega CD. Not sure which ones...
2) I think it was Akuma over at SX who was selling the EPROM to modify the Sega CD to region free. It's very annoying to install (especially on the model 2) and I don't even know if he sells it anymore.
3) SCDconv , converts the ISO images. You all know that. Here's a working link and also includes a compatibility list. It's the route I always choose. http://www.segaxtreme.net/content/misc/segacdutil.html

You can just make burns I believe. Keep your import games prestine while playing dirty CD-Rs of them.
