I am sure there are already threads on this, but I wanted to start a new one.
So, I just received a CDX from eBay, and it appears to have a strange sound issue. Basically, the sound on cart games is noticeably distorted. If you play an audio CD or game with redbook audio, everything is crystal clear.
I am fairly technical, but how difficult of a repair would this be? I skimmed through a few threads through Google and saw mentions of potential capacitor problems being the cause.
Already agreed in principal to return the item to the seller, but if I can figure out how to fix it before the long weekend ends, I may just ask for a partial refund instead. Any knowledge on the matter would be great. Thanks.

Have you already tried cleaning all of the pins where the cart sits?
