Annoying buzzing sound from Model 2 Genesis

I know the model Genesis is supposed to have bad sound, but should it have a background hum that makes everything sound bad? I have it hooked up to a Sega CD model 2 and a 32x. Everything has Sega Branded AC adapters. I have stereo AV cables connected from the 32x to the TV, I believe that is 3rd party.

The sound is bad on Genesis and 32x games, its less noticeable when playing Sega CD games. Is this just supposed to be how a model 2 sounds?

Short answer, no they don't all sound bad.

I havent heard all of the Model 2's but the background noise could be specific to a certain model. It could be a buncha things, maybe whatever amp your running through?

Mine has a constant buzzing sound. Sort of how the model 1 sounds when you have it connected with a 3rd party AC adapter.

Nevermind the way the described it last. Its more like a scratchy sound. It doesn't make the sound when there's no other sound coming from the genesis.

I think I know what you mean. I just got a CDX which I think makes a similar sound to what you describe. Doesn't sound nearly as good as my two Genesis 2/Sega CD combos or my X'eye. Extremely aggravating. I also found that it was less noticeable (or practically non-existent) when playing audio CDs or games with redbook audio.
