Hey guys, I just uploaded my unboxing of the original game boy.

Hope you like it. :)

Also, any constructive criticism is welcome.

haha, you're too young too understand. Actually I kinda enjoy hearing you youngsters talk about old games and their marketing.

Good unboxing though. Would like to see a little of the instruction manuals.

Is the AC adapter missing? I Could have sworn an AC adapter came with it. Looks like there's a spot in the styrofoam for it too (lower right, under Tetris).

I was thinking the same thing. Like, you might have not been alive when I was unboxing that on Christmas morning.

Oddly enough, just yesterday I decided to put some batteries in my GB and play Tetris. Too bad my box is long gone. :( And too bad that even though I haven't touched my GB in years, some how the speaker blew up.

The original GB did not come with an AC adapter, only 4 AA batteries. There was an AC adapter accessory sold separately though.

It's pretty weird. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone born after like 1995 or so would have interest in retro games, let alone enough to do research about the history of retro games and consoles. Most kids that play games that I've ever met balk at a PS2, let alone a Game Boy. Nothing but a 360 paired with Gears or COD will suffice for them.

That's cool though. I mean, I enjoy music from before my time.

Alright, now that you've said that, I kinda remember it coming with the batteries.

Instead of "why" I should have said "how". I think it's pretty cool too.

Music is different all together though.

Yeah I tend to stumble upon a lot of good youtube channels with people doing good LP's on old stuff, or uploading a lot of old VG music, or making their own, etc and a lot of times those users are pretty young. It's awesome more than anything, haha.

Oh god I remember those "Danger" pamphlets.

It does put a fresh perspective on things, as they generally aren't blinded by nostalgia.
Older. Not wiser.
