2012 - Can't wait! Story takes place 17 years after SCIV! Some returning characters, apparently, but it sounds like this makes room for a grand scale of newbies! This will definitely be interesting! Already confirmed is Patroklos - the son of Sophitia and Rothian.

Re: Soul Calibur V announced!
awesome cant wiat to see some screen shots. I think the last soul calibur i was really into was the one on dreamcast. I played a little of the one on ps3, wasnt bad at all really but for soemthing reason didnt enjoy it as much as i did on the dreamcast.
I hope namco doesnt do it justice unlike the release of tekken6 that was just horrible.

I couldn't get into 3-4 honestly, so I guess I'm skeptical about this for now.

I'm kind of tickled that a game that wastes as little code space on 'story' as possible has a sequel taking place 17 years into the future.
I just hope that middle aged Ivy is in it. And that the she is down with wearing a bustier. For Ivy, gravity may be a far more deadly enemy than any accursed sword.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Now I have an image of them swinging around her waist at high speed.Flake wrote:I'm kind of tickled that a game that wastes as little code space on 'story' as possible has a sequel taking place 17 years into the future.

Maybe she can work boob attacks into her sword combos.

Re: Soul Calibur V announced!
I'm hoping they take advantage of the 17-year storyline gap as an excuse to introduce even more fighting/weapon styles, (and not just re-skin current styles with new faces - ala Toshinden 3 & 4.)
As a real-life fencer, I love that the series embraces the Western art of fencing in Raphael and Amy, but I don't see the need for two different poking characters. Maybe introduce a new character that combines the speed and agility of Amy, with the power and graceful strikes of Raphael, (or feature an adult Amy with these qualities, as this would make more sense.) Although with Raphael being pretty much a borderline vampire - I see him returning along with mainstay immortals Cervantes, Algol, and (possibly) Astaroth.

Yes! That means I have a year to finally get ScIV. SCII was my favorite, Gamecube version.
