Question Regarding Mortal Kombat Armageddon Wii
So I've been watching some gameplay vids online and I noticed that the MK Team had added some stupid "new move" in this Wii version where you or your cpu character could temporarily lay flat on the ground in order to avoid an attack. But I think this feature was/is really dumb and ruins the gameplay flow. So I'm wondering if anybody who owns the game can tell me if there's any way you can turn that move off in the gameplay options or anything?
Thanks in advance

Hmm, I think I remember that. Though it's 8AM and I just got up, so I'm still kinda half dreaming.
Stupid it may be, but any more stupid then side-stepping a projectile in MK4?
Anyways, I have it on the Wii. I'll check it out later, but I don't think you can turn it off.

No. There's no way to turn off the suckiness of MK:A either, because then there'd be no game left.
Seriously, don't play it. It's awful.

Re: Question Regarding Mortal Kombat Armageddon Wii
Armageddon on PS2 is awesome, I don't know what you're talking about.
The only reason I'm interested in the Wii version is because there was a programming error in the PS2/Xbox versions where all the unlocked arenas were not playable in the single-player arcade mode - they were only playable in multiplayer. There are also some characters that come up very rarely in the fight ladder. So in arcade mode, you always fight in the same 14 default arenas and it's usually against the same batch of characters.
The MK Team did fix this random level & character fight ladder glitch/error in the Wii version. But it seems like it was at the expense of this stupid new "lazy kombat/lay down" feature.

Re: Question Regarding Mortal Kombat Armageddon Wii
You have to be kidding. MK:A is far and away the worst MK game. It has no semblance of balance, the collision is awful, the fighting system is shallow, and it just plays like a shitty tech demo. The game seriously has no redeeming qualities; everything in it that isn't straight up bad is just flatline mediocre or half assed.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Armageddon on PS2 is awesome, I don't know what you're talking about.

Re: Question Regarding Mortal Kombat Armageddon Wii
It uses the same fighting game engine as Deception and features every MK fighter to date. The create-a-fatality was a really fun feature. The "aerial kombat" attacks were a welcome addition to standard ground fighting.SplashChick wrote:You have to be kidding. MK:A is far and away the worst MK game. You're just not a Mortal Kombat fan, that's your problem.

I'm fairly certain SplashChick is a vehement MK fan (look at the MK9 thread), just not a 3D MK fan.Weekend_Warrior wrote:It uses the same fighting game engine as Deception and features every MK fighter to date. Re: Question Regarding Mortal Kombat Armageddon Wii
That's the problem, all of those things you listed were AWFUL IDEAS. The game plays like it's not even finished, the balance is just unexcusable, the "create-a-fatality" is a joke and an excuse to be lazy and not put in ANY character fatalities(how do you even excuse that?), and the "aerial kombat" was idiotic guessing game padding. It's fucking AWFUL. There isn't a hardcore MK fan alive who actually liked MK:A. It was a slap in the face to us all.Weekend_Warrior wrote:It uses the same fighting game engine as Deception and features every MK fighter to date. The create-a-fatality was a really fun feature. Stfu, Splashchick. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean the rest of the MK community didn't like it. Because you're DEAD WRONG! A lot of MK fans enjoyed the game and still do.
Also, I created this thread to ask a question about the game. Not to hear your stupid shit

Ask anyone there. I've been a part of the hardcore MK community for a long time, and I remember when MK:A came out. It was a lot of excitement for what looked like the next MKT, followed by universal disappointment and the exceedingly poor quality of the game. I don't know how any MK fan in their right mind can delude themselves into liking that game, it's complete and utter garbage, and an insult to the MK community. MK:A is often regarded as the game that stuck the final nail in the coffin of MK, as it killed the hopes of most of there ever being a truly good MK game again.
You did ask your question. I also answered it.
