RB- Why not sell 72pins???
Racket, just curious, why don't you sell 72-pins for NESs?
Re: RB- Why not sell 72pins???
I thought about it -- thought it might be a bit strange considering I've never owned an NESpixelbender wrote:Racket, just curious, why don't you sell 72-pins for NESs?
I wouldn't be able to offer support or anything?
Is there a big demand for them?

I own an NES and have done this fix several times for people. The job is pretty easy and I can offer some assistance if you want.
Also I bet some of the cats here after receiving them can offer their own help as well.
I say go, ebay is really the only place to get them right now and I've been bunked once by a screw ball on there. (turned out it wasn't new and was one ripped out of an old NES... defeats the purpose, the new ones work because they changed the metal used).

The only thing that might surprise people who install this item will be how much physical force is required to insert your games for a few months. You can literally hear the contacts scraping together for the first 100 insertions or so. At least you know it's making a great connection. After that it begins to break in like normal.
I inquired with someone some time ago about the replacement 72-pin connectors and apparently a number of suppliers supply questionable parts. I forget who on-line I spoke to, but the fellow said something like anything from 25%-50% of the supply he got turned out bad and either had to be returned to him for replacement or tossed outright.
I would really like to see Racketboy provide these (I'd buy one) but I would encourage him to be careful about his suppliers to make sure he doesn't end up with lots of duds.
